VALENCISO started as a dream and challenge of Luis Valentin and Carmen Enciso in 1998, after 30 years working in a traditional Rioja house, they decided to start VALENCISO with the aim to show the typicity of freshness and elegance of the most important grape variety of the Rioja, the Tempranillo.

VALENCISO started with 4 hectares producing 20,000 bottles. During all this 25 years of history and the aim on improving the quality, complexity and personality of VALENCISO wines, we are working with 24 hectares in the northern part of Rioja Alta, we are in conversion to organic and we have incorporated some biodynamic practices under our sustainable viticulture philosophy.

The personality of VALENCISO wines is driven by elegance and freshness, purpose we achieve by working with low yields, bunch selection of the grapes, unique concrete fermentation and the gentle use of French oak, all in a very slow and patience aging of our wines.

In the last year the winery went to a next level, by being invited to be part of Grandes Pagos de España and ABC (quality wineries) association, getting VALENCISO among the best wineries of all Spain.
